The Plant Exchange is growing! We are expanding our storage space with the construction of new a Plant Hospital to nurture and rehabilitate unloved plants. The storage shelves will be built out of lumber. Can you help? We can use the following flooring sizes: treated 2x4s and untreated 2x6s, 2x8s, or 2x10s. For support posts we need treated 4x4s and 4x6s. And finally we need 20 cement piers. We have a truck and can pick up the materials.

![]() Early Donation Drop Off Starts Saturday, March 17 Go here for directions, access hours, and instructions. Don’t forget, no fertilizers or chemicals! The Plant Exchange is Saturday, March 31st. Come early for two free demonstrations starting at 11 a.m. on container gardening and fruit tree grafting. The exchange opens at noon as always. There will be live music, delicious food, advice from the Alameda County Master Gardeners and a big exhibitor area. Come prepared to bid on the wonderful items in our silent auction! Thanks to an amazing crew of volunteers from Kaiser Permanente and a few of our skilled helpers, we have a new outdoor storage shed. The shed expands our storage space and ability to accept donations, especially indoor plants, year round. We are always looking to expand our network of corporate partners, plant donors, and skilled volunteers. Want to learn more? Visit our Spring Plant Sale on Sat., March 10, from 9:30am – 1:30pm to discover new additions for your home and garden. We have plants, indoor trees, pots, succulents, yard art, and more. See photos and flyer. Stay after from 2 – 4pm for Urban Gateway Livestock: Chickens ‘N’ Bees taught by Yolanda of Pollinate Farm & Garden. Learn the basics of backyard chicken and beekeeping to get you started with a hive and flock of your own. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
